Published the wrong version; should be 2 Lukes and the 2 Maces are in the sideboard
Chirrut red deck that I went 8-0 with at a local play recently.
Nothing that unordinary, but just posting as it's been serving me very well and minus the Lukes it is relatively budget. Have had good success on TTS as well, hasn't lost a match but have dropped some games but haven't been keeping score properly online.
The match ups so far:
2-0 against Red/Green aggro Leia
2-0 against Yellow/ Blue Thrawn control (Forced surrender sideboard is insanely good in this matchup)
2-0 against Red/Blue GI. This one is a favourable match up for Chirrut, just make sure to Tarkin Town early to ruin their tempo.
2-0 against Green/ Yellow Boba. These were both close games, but in game 1 Chirrut was just too big, surviving 10 damage at one point with Jedi Lightsaber and It Binds Us All. Game 2 I got a very lucky Force Throw where the only card in my opponents hand was Firespray, so discarding that won me the game.
In general the deck can play aggro or quite reserved. Running it down with A-wings and Fleet Lieutenants is always a viable start, as this on top of the resources they will likely have to burn to deal with Chirrut when he deploys keeps you way ahead in the game state.
Try to keep initiative for turn 4 so Chirrut can deploy ASAP and get the Jedi Lightsaber, Devotion, or The Force Is With Me on him.
Watch out for Takedown vs Blue, but don't worry about it to the point of never deploying; if they have it, they will save it endlessly so it just needs to be burnt before you've stalled too much and lost tempo. The deck can win without Chirrut, just in a more messy fashion.
