Unplayable Leaders Series Volume 2: I am sorry, for all of it

The unplayable leaders series takes non-meta leaders and/or non-meta strategies and tries to make a competitive deck that can catch wins off of competitive strategies. It’s probably not winning you a PQ, but it’ll ruin a few peoples day to have that loss in Swiss to something that they weren’t expecting at all.

Volume 2 of the unplayable leaders series gives us another vigilance heroism leader (the first was Chewbacca with Cunning, recurring crafty smuggler sentinels and stalling for a big Wookie end game). In the spotlight this time is Obi-Wan Kenobi paired with vigilance and discard.

The early game is fairly straightforward with low cost units that are low threat but hard to get rid of (it just feels really awful to burn Tarkintown on a Moisture Farmer) and have some higher health for later game strategies.

In the midgame, Satine can overwhelm your opponents by turning a low-threat, high health board into a massive discard machine. Coupled with Entrench, I Have The High Ground, and Electrostaff, I have accomplished a full mill of the opposing deck on my Obi-Wan flip turn.

Most often, the end game is that of a tightly coiled constrictor - your opponent has seen 8-10 cards on the draw, but those are the only ones they’ll draw for the rest of the match. You will have board presence with a heavy hitter and sentinel that heals and pings, plus the ability to draw and play cards while they suffer 6 points of damage per draw phase.
