Tarkin puts opponent's units on lockdown, slowing aggression and mid-range. There is plenty of removal between blue and Bossk to handle most threats until your mid to late game where high-powered units like Chimera can hold space or clear their hand, and juggernauts preserve the base while providing strong shielded attack to finish off the game.
I've tested this against Sabine, Boba, and Iden so far. Have yet to test against Grand Inquisitor, Leia aggro, or other forms of control, but early results are solid.
